A US citizen
of San Francisco, based in Beijing from early 2005 to late 2009, Lowell Bennett was under contract as an
editorial consultant with China's largest publishing house. Also maintaining his freelance business, Bennett otherwise earned a living
advising,
editing,
writing,
handling collateral
web development
projects and
shooting
photos on behalf of publications, varied businesses,
governments, agencies and organizations
worldwide. In the course of professional assignments and
personal travels he explored much of
China, recording in image and reflecting in writing its many regions, provinces, cities, towns, villages and remote
hinterlands. A project nearing completion and set for early 2012 publication, a book of photography and writing on the modern and increasingly cosmopolitan metropolis of Beijing, is tentatively entitled BEIJING INTERNATIONAL - An Ancient Capital's Renaissance in the Age of Globalization. Advance excerpts are available for publication subject to publishing house approval. The project's 240 images are posted on a non-public, non-search-indexed web gallery and may be viewed by request. All China photos (excepting the book images) and a select collection of 229 audio-captioned images presented in slide show fashion are at See PRC.com. Today, while holding a China Z-class business visa, Bennett also operates in Southeast Asia and is currently traveling in Laos, Thailand and contiguous countries. He continues to serve established international clients as well as taking on new assignments producing editorial content and original photographs from around the greater region. The Southeast Asia shots can be browsed on a single page at See Southeast Asia.com. Links to
